The Story of DenScore

DenScore was founded in 2020 by a dentist and a data scientist who shared a vision to help dental insurance plans use claims data to identify and promote high-quality dental care. Although the concept was strong, gaining traction with insurers proved challenging, prompting us to shift our focus and build something directly for patients.

In 2023, we launched a free online dental tool to help people find the right dentist, compare dental insurance options, and make informed decisions about their care both in the office and at home. Within months, thousands of users were turning to DenScore for guidance, confirming that we were on the right path.

As demand grew, it became difficult for our small team to keep up with the volume of personalized recommendation requests. To meet this need, we began publishing Best Dentist and Best Dental Insurance directories using clear, data-driven criteria to guide patients toward trusted providers and plans.

Soon after, dental marketing companies began asking how their clients could be featured in our directories. Dentists and specialists reached out directly as well. That’s when we realized that DenScore could support both sides of the dental marketplace, giving consumers reliable guidance while helping high-quality dental providers attract new patients at a fraction of the cost of traditional marketing.

Today, DenScore helps patients make confident dental decisions, supports dentists and specialists in growing their practices, and partners with insurers to improve member experiences across the country.
